Gulls can drink salt water. Unthinkable for humans, but a matter of course for these birds.
Gulls are medium-sized birds that live on the coast. Thanks to their long, slim wings they are excellent gliders. These white and grey feathered birds are omnivores and feed above all on anything they can get from the sea. Along the coastline they are often seen in a flock, loudly following fishing boats where they feed on the fish waste. Gulls can be found almost all over the world, where they are more common in moderate and cold climates. They breed in colonies in the niches of cliffs whereby the parent birds share caring for the brood.
