Most Dartmoor foals are born between May and August, and are just 50 to 60 cm tall at birth. Adult Dartmoor ponies reach a maximum height of 127 cm. Even today, most Dartmoor ponies still roam free in south-west England. They form small herds led by a stallion.
Fun Fact: Dartmoor ponies, miniature Shetland ponies and Exmoor ponies are among the smallest pony breeds in the world.
